Djokovic recently shine in the Australian open beating Federer in STRAIGHT SETS in the semi-finals. This is one of Federer's first ever straight set defeat in a Grand slam and could this have marked a new tennis era?
Djokovic beat both Federer and Tsonga to win his first ever grand slam. In this Australian Open Federer and Nadal were hot favourites to battle it out, but both were comfortably beaten in shock victories for Tsonga and Djokovic. Tennis fans have been so used to Federer dominating the tennis world, hardly ever losing out in a Grand Slam. His only ever challenger has been Nadal who also was beaten with ease by the unlikely finalist, Tsonga. We know that this is not the demise of Federer but were these tow defeats only hiccups for the two tennis stars, especially Federer, or is this really a new era in tennis?
What are your thoughts?
